Cath Lab Technologist - Travel Contract

Location: Carmichael, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist for a travel contract in a hospital near Sacramento. The role involves assisting with cardiac and peripheral invasive procedures in a Cath Lab setting.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Days
• Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week (typically Monday to Friday, 07:00–17:30)
• Call: Required approximately 12 days per month, including at least one weekend (Friday 17:30 to Monday 07:00)
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Holidays: Call required, assignments rotate
• Floating: No

Clinical Environment & Duties

• Unit: Cath Lab with 2 beds/suites
• Average cases: 8 per day
• Procedures: All cardiac invasive procedures except structural heart; peripheral procedures including carotid, A/V grafts, EVAR, peripheral diagnostics and interventions
• No “dirty” procedures (e.g., PEGs, G tubes)
• Must be able to scrub cardiac and peripheral cases (PCI/STEMI experience required)
• EMR system: Cerner
• Ventilator patients: Yes
• Cardiologist hours/on call: Yes
• IV Team available: Yes
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7
• Charge nurse present

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience
• Active BLS certification
• Active ACLS certification
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or ARRT certification required
• Must have scrub experience for PCI/STEMI cases
• COVID-19 vaccination required (with certification)
• Candidates must provide 2 supervisory references from modality: one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years
• Candidates must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by the associated health system within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable

Orientation & Onboarding

• Floor-specific orientation depends on skill level, generally 1 or 2 shifts
• Hospital provides scrubs

• This is a travel contract position
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• No radiology licenses required beyond RCIS/ARRT certifications
