Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location
- Indianapolis, Indiana

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Night shift
- 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Acute Care and Inpatient settings
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Experience Notes
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)
- Must be comfortable with floating between multiple hospital locations within the system
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS, BLS, and RRT certifications mandatory
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required (not required for Techs or RRTs)
- Unit competency exam required
- Color Blind Testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent) with minimum 100% score on online test
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, including 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, county/state/national checks, and education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification by third party (may be pending at start)
- Online license verification within 30 days of start
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start date
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (including amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP)
- Tuberculosis screening (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start date; if positive, chest X-ray within 2 years required
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine strongly recommended
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
Documentation and Forms
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
- Employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (supervisory or managerial titles required)
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually
- Facility-specific compliance and confidentiality agreements must be completed prior to start
- Mandatory RRT modules must be completed before orientation (deadline: Friday prior to start)
Additional Notes
- Indiana RN travelers are restricted from working at these facilities effective 11/30/2024, with exceptions for perioperative and ambulatory RN specialties (not applicable to RRTs)
- Floating between multiple hospital locations is required as part of the assignment
