Description
Job Opportunity: RRT (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics) - Travel/Contract
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 48 hours
Schedule Requirement: Every other weekend required
Floating: Must be willing to float between multiple hospital locations within the system
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Background Checks:
- Must include 7 years of residence/work history
- Social Security Number trace, county, state, nationwide criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS Level III
- Education verification required (may be pending at start)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
Health and Safety Documents:
- Physical exam within 12 months of start date
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Strongly recommended (preferred but not required)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (no declinations accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests not accepted)
Competency Exams:
- Medication test/pharmacology exam required (not required for RRTs)
- Unit competency exam required
- Color blind testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent) with minimum 100% score
Facility Specific Requirements:
- Completion of mandatory RRT modules prior to orientation (deadline: Friday before start week)
- Completion of facility-specific compliance, confidentiality, policy, and orientation documents (time sensitive)
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy required)
Important Notes
- Indiana RN travelers are restricted from working at these facilities effective 11/30/2024, except for Perioperative/OR, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers. This does not affect RRTs.
- On-site fit testing is limited and requires prior approval; PAPR use is facility-dependent.
- Candidates must confirm comfort with every other weekend shift requirement before submission.
This position offers a travel contract opportunity for experienced RRTs with ICU background, requiring multiple certifications and compliance with extensive health and background screening protocols.
