Registered Nurse (RN) - IMC
Location
- Marquette, Michigan
- Central region of Michigan's Upper Peninsula
- Largest community in the peninsula
- Home to Northern Michigan University
Employment Type
- Travel assignment
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 hours
- Weekend hours: every other weekend
- No scheduled call; may be put on call if census drops
Unit & Patient Population
- 24-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Level 2 ICU with Open Heart program, Cath Lab, Neuro Surgery, Level II Trauma center, and CRRT programs
- Patient ratio: 1:3 for IMCU
- Common diagnoses/treatments: post-open heart surgery, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, surgical ICU care, post-stroke with lytics, post-craniotomy, septic shock
- Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, Prisma Flex CRRT, Impella, IABP, EVDs, bolt monitoring, ventilators, BiPAP, high flow oxygen
- Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Michigan
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Preferred Experience
- Experience in CVICU, Neuro ICU, organ donation, pediatric diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
Work Environment & Dress Code
- Positive team player personality fit
- Scrub colors: Galaxy, Royal, or Navy blue
- Unacceptable attire: hoodies and open-toed shoes

- Orientation is bi-weekly
- Facility is a 225-bed specialty care hospital with Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women’s Health, and Pediatrics services
