Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room
Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: 09:00 AM – 09:30 PM
Job Summary
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department (ED).
- Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient needs and priorities.
- Safely, rapidly, and accurately triage every patient entering the emergency care system.
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Support unit preparation for an Epic EMR system go-live.
- Must self-study telemetry strips before starting; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to continue working in the ED.
- May be placed on call occasionally during low census periods; if called in, must respond and arrive on-site within one hour.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Current CPI or MOAB certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic EMR system
