Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: 09:00 AM – 09:30 PM

Job Summary

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department (ED).
• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient needs and priorities.
• Safely, rapidly, and accurately triage every patient entering the emergency care system.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Support unit preparation for an Epic EMR system go-live.
• Must self-study telemetry strips before starting; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to continue working in the ED.
• May be placed on call occasionally during low census periods; if called in, must respond and arrive on-site within one hour.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Current CPI or MOAB certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic EMR system

Additional Notes

• Hard start date: June 1, 2026
• End date: July 26, 2026 (extension possible based on unit needs)

• Traveler will not be part of regular call rotation but must be available for occasional call-in during low census periods.

This position is ideal for an experienced Emergency Room RN comfortable with telemetry, Epic EMR systems, and emergency care triage in a fast-paced environment.
