Description
Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (Travel Assignment)
Location: Frankfort, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D), Level 2 NICU/Newborn Nursery, Mother-Baby (MB)
- Beds: 7 L&D, 14 MB
- Staff: 58 total
- Day Shift: 6-8 RNs, 1 Obstetric Technician (OBT), 1 unit clerk
- Night Shift: 5-8 RNs, 1 OBT, 1 unit clerk
- Patient Ratios:
- L&D: 2:1
- Mother-Baby: 6-8:1
- NICU: 1-4:1 (acuity dependent)
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, Corometrics 250 series Fetal Monitor, Monica monitor, Ranger fluid warmer
- EMR Systems: Meditech Expanse, Centricity Perinatal (CPN)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Ability to circulate for cesarean sections (c/s)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN
Typical Procedures Performed
- Vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
- Induction of labor (using Cook catheter, Cervidil, oxytocin)
- Management of intrauterine fetal demise (IUFD)
- IV insertion, lab draws, sterile vaginal exams
- Assisting with epidurals and Foley catheter insertion
Work Schedule & Environment
- Every other weekend on call (Friday and Saturday night)
- Scrubs provided for infant security
- Team-oriented work culture
Preferred Experience
- More than 5 years of Labor & Delivery experience is highly desirable
This position is ideal for experienced Labor & Delivery RNs seeking a travel assignment in a Level 2 NICU and Mother-Baby unit with a supportive team environment.
