Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Travel)

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Job Overview

• Work primarily in the Emergency Department (ED), a 54-bed Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center.
• ED treats over 60,000 patients annually.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
• Schedule includes every other weekend and holidays as required.
• Shift options include 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Patient-facing clinical role.
• Facility uses Meditech EMR.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
• Parking available.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama.
• Certifications required:

  • AHA ACLS (American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • AHA BLS (American Heart Association Basic Life Support)
  • AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • SECURE (on site)

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year.

Additional Information

• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• This is not a remote position.
• Timesheet approver roles assigned (primary and backup).
