Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Travel Assignment)

Location: Dallas, Texas
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Weekend, every other weekend, 7 PM – 7 AM
Hours per Week: 36 hours (no 48-hour shifts approved)
Call Requirements: Yes

Job Description

• Adult Emergency Room (ER) unit
• Floating as needed within the unit
• Documentation system: Meditech
• No time off allowed during FIFA event from 06/14 to 07/14

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including 2+ years in Emergency Nursing specialty
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
• Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI) required

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Meditech electronic documentation system
• Specialty/unit certifications in Emergency Nursing

Appearance and Dress Code

• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Nail policy: Clean and healthy nails only; no artificial, gel, or next-generation nails
• Hair: Neat, clean, no extreme styles or colors; hair shoulder length or longer must be pulled back when working in the lab
• Facial hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions addressed individually
• Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; visible piercings such as nose or tongue rings are prohibited
