Operating Room Registered Nurse - Augusta, Georgia (Travel/Contract)
Job Details

- Shift: Day (3 shifts of 12 hours each; 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
Patient Population & Unit
- Adults to Geriatrics
- Main Operating Room covering General, Neuro, Spine, Orthopedics, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, Colorectal surgeries
- Circulate and Scrub experience required (HARD STOP)
- Unit uses Epic, Pyxis, and 2 Da Vinci XI Robots
- 16 rooms with an average daily census of 35
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
- Average 2-3 weekend shifts per contract period
- Floating is rare
- Call requirements: 7-8 calls in a 6-week schedule plus 1 weekend call and 1-2 weekend shifts
- Holiday work expected if major holidays fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Scrub color provided by facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Orientation & Compliance
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Full compliance with credentialing and onboarding required to start on time; delays may push start by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
Required Documentation & Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID (photo ID required)
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start (including education verification)
- Education verification of related degree (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
- Annual Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with TB questionnaire updated annually)
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start (including amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, propoxyphene, THC)
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Work history verification of most recent employer (can be pending at start with proof)
- Two clinical references required
Competency Exams (Aya requirements)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing (with alternative assessment if needed)
- Competency Exam for nursing skills
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (if applicable to specialty/unit)
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Candidate must review and sign facility Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
- Clinical screens are sent on a case-by-case basis for final manager decision
