Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Contract Length: 16 weeks


Patient Population

  • Adults to Geriatrics

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist within the last year

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC accepted; RQI certs acceptable)
  • State licensure as applicable for Radiology Technologist in Georgia

Work Environment & Tools

  • Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, PACS
  • Average daily census: 8 patients
  • Scrub color provided by facility
  • Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed

Schedule & Work Requirements

  • Every other weekend required
  • Call requirement: 10 days per month
  • Holidays: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, must work it; if 2, must work both; if 3, must work 2 of them
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
  • Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days; blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)

Orientation & Compliance

  • Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance results in 2-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Required Pre-Employment & Ongoing Documentation

  • Background check completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification and criminal searches
  • Education verification required; official transcripts/diploma or verified tech certification/license acceptable if pending
  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start (annual renewal not required)
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months or chest x-ray if previously positive
  • TB questionnaire required annually regardless of TB test result
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
    • Flu vaccine or signed declination (strongly encouraged during flu season Nov-Mar)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start (instant drug screen acceptable)

Competency & Testing Requirements

  • Color Blind Testing (must pass or alternative assessment provided)
  • Competency exams as required by employer (not client-mandated)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required if applicable to specialty area

Additional Requirements

  • Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
  • References: 2 clinical references required
  • Skills checklist updated within 12 months
  • Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)

  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Clinical screening will be conducted to determine fit before final manager decision
  • Floating and call requirements are within scope of practice and facility needs

This position offers a structured day shift schedule with a focus on interventional radiology procedures in a facility using advanced electronic systems. Candidates must meet all compliance, certification, and documentation requirements prior to start.
