Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Location: Robbinsdale, Minnesota

Job Summary

• Provide holistic nursing care across the lifespan including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults.
• Perform independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions according to standards and competencies specific to the assigned unit.
• Execute the Standards of Nursing Practice: assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Develop and revise patient care plans, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and delegate activities appropriately.
• Participate in shared accountability and decision-making to improve nursing practices and the care environment.
• Duties and required clinical skills may vary based on the assigned care unit.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of RN experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC).
• Experience caring for fresh open heart surgery patients.
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Experience with adult and geriatric populations.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records system.
• Work history documentation relevant to specialty.
• Skills checklist current within 1 year, pertinent to specialty.
• Two supervisory references with dates of employment.
• MN DHS Net Study and fingerprinting required for all patient-facing roles.
• Compliance with strict credentialing deadline (4 pm Wednesday before start date).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Impella and balloon pumps.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Galaxy Blue Scrubs.
• Nonbillable hours: 4 hours per week.
• Local travel policy applies for candidates living within 35 miles of the facility.
• Prior work history with the health system or related entities must be listed on the resume.
• The position is based in a Level 1 Trauma center with a Level II pediatric trauma center and Level III NICU.
• The facility is recognized for excellence in cardiovascular and women’s and children’s care.
