Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) – Nights

Job Summary

Provide holistic nursing care across the lifespan, focusing on independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Responsibilities include assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, evaluation, and coordination of care. Participate in shared accountability and decision-making to improve practice standards and patient care environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Experience caring for fresh open heart surgery patients
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms
• Experience with adult and geriatric populations
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system
• Work history documentation relevant to specialty within the past year
• Skills checklist current to within 1 year, pertinent to specialty
• Two supervisory references with dates of employment
• MN DHS Net Study and Fingerprinting required for all patient-facing roles
• Compliance with strict credentialing deadline (4 pm Wednesday before start)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Impella and balloon pumps

• Dress code: Galaxy Blue Scrubs
• Nonbillable hours: 4 hours per week

• Local traveler policy applies for candidates living within 35 miles of the facility

Patient Population

Neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults, with a focus on cardiovascular intensive care patients including fresh open heart surgery cases.

• This position requires night shift availability.
• The role involves working in a Level 1 Trauma center with specialized cardiovascular care.
