Description
Special Procedures Tech - Radiology
Location: Savannah, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Work Environment
- Unit: Angiography / Interventional Radiology (IR) Labs
- Number of Beds: 3 Angiography Labs (2 Dedicated IR Labs, 1 Hybrid OR)
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Staffing: Teams typically include Lead Tech, RN, ARRT/RTR, RCIS (3-4 person teams; ideal staffing is 2 Techs and 2 RNs)
- Equipment Used: IVUS, Shockwave, Angio Jet, Jet Stream
- Documentation System: EPIC Cupid
- Shift Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each, with on-call requirements
- Dress Code: Royal blue and black for RNs; Navy blue and black for Techs
- Patient Population: High acuity, including ICU and ER patients
- Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma Center
- Stroke Center: Certified Stroke Center
Required Qualifications
- Special Procedures Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Recent experience as a Special Procedures Technologist within the last year
- ARRT Certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Procedures Performed
- Permcath placement
- Port placement
- Thrombectomy
- Atherectomy
- Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TVAR)
- Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS)
- Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR)
- Pulmonary Embolism (PE) interventions
- Stroke and trauma-related procedures
