Description
Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Canton, Ohio
Shift: Night shift, three 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in Labor and Delivery, including labor/induction patients, circulating role in OB-OR, and antepartum assignments.
- Experience working in Labor and Delivery required.
- Orientation (32-40 hours) included, with assessments on ECG rhythm recognition and Safe Medicate during orientation (passing scores required).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
- Current certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- STABLE certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Prior experience in Labor and Delivery nursing required.
- No explicit prior travel experience required.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
- Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually.
- Immunizations and documentation required:
- Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 12 months, with annual updates)
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Seasonal flu vaccination (required annually; no declinations accepted)
- Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted).
- Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start.
Background and Compliance
- Background check required prior to start, including FCRA-compliant 7-year search and education verification.
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months, updated annually. Must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
Documentation and Onboarding
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried on assignment.
- Completion of onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; video training must be watched before testing).
- Photo for badge required (headshot, shoulders up, white background).
- Two professional references required from employment within the last year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).
- Employment application must include at least 3 years prior work history, with 2 years in acute care and similar area.
Additional Information
- Orientation time paid at 50% of base hourly rate.
- Hours worked submitted via Qualivis – Lotus One system.
- Facility accommodates latex allergies; notification required to ensure latex-free gloves stocked.
- Candidates with name changes must have consistent legal names on all documents.
- Candidates with gaps longer than 6 months since last assignment at this facility may need to retake orientation modules and competency exams.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized Labor and Delivery environment on a travel contract basis with comprehensive support for onboarding and compliance.
