Job Opportunity: Radiologic Technologist 2 - Heart & Vascular Institute Procedures

Work Schedule
- Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (4/9 schedule)
- 9 hours per day, 36 hours per week
- Includes on-call duties and variable shifts as assigned
Job Summary
- Provide radiologic technologist services specifically in invasive cardiology and invasive radiology procedures within the Heart & Vascular Institute.
- Assist physicians during procedures and ensure patient care, safety, and comfort.
- Administer contrast material via existing IV lines or by performing venipuncture.
- Monitor and respond to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
- Maintain sterile fields and manage procedural supplies.
- Document procedures accurately and communicate effectively with the care team.
- Perform peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization (venous and arterial), venous thrombectomy, dialysis-related procedures, and neuro-related procedures (preferred).
- Experience with interventional neurology is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
- Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- ARRT Radiography (R) certification
- Associate's degree in a related field or a certificate in radiologic technology
- Radiology Technologist experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous radiologic technology experience in a procedural setting.
- Experience with interventional neurology procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and withhold contrast and treatments as appropriate.
- Assess patients for allergies.
- Assist with inventory and supply management.
- Verify patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
- Provide patient education and support during procedures.
- Accurately inform procedural nurses of medication doses, radiation, and counts.
- Assist in training new staff as needed.
This position is ideal for radiologic technologists with procedural experience seeking a specialized role in cardiovascular and interventional radiology settings.
