Registered Nurse (LTC/SNF) - South Dakota

Location

• City: Canistota, South Dakota

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Scheduled if they fall within your block schedule during the contract
• Orientation: Includes training, tour, competencies, and opportunity to shadow 1-2 shifts

Facility & Patient Population

• Facility Type: Geriatric psychiatric long-term care/skilled nursing facility
• Bed Count: 55 beds
• Patient Population: Elderly patients including those with dementia and behavioral health diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia (medication management effective)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:

  • Day shift approx. 1:23
  • Night shift approx. 1:45
  • Med aide support from 6 PM to 10 PM; 1 nurse from 10 PM to 6 AM
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: PCC

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BLS Certification
• Preferred: Experience in psychiatric long-term care (psych LTC) due to geriatric psych patient population

Additional Notes

• No on-call or call-back responsibilities
• Backouts or quits with less than 14 days’ notice incur a $500 fee
• Local pay rates apply within 80 miles of the facility
• 12-hour block scheduling for shifts
