Description

Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Work in a 3rd floor unit with 8 beds, caring for laboring patients including GYN patients.
  • Follow AWHONN patient ratio standards.
  • Use Cerner EHR system.
  • Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
  • Weekend hours as needed.
  • No call requirements.
  • Possible float assignments as helping hands.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Certifications required:
    • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) units.

Work Environment & Culture

  • Facility includes specialized centers such as Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, Surgical Weight Loss, Women’s Center, and Level 3 NICU.
  • Unit culture values easy-going, committed, and positive personality traits.
  • Scrub color: No designated color except navy scrubs supplied by hospital for C-sections.

  • No trauma level specified for this unit.
  • Patient population includes laboring women and gynecological patients.
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required.
