Description
Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Travel Position
Location: Reno, Nevada
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Role: Perinatal Sonographer
- Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Friday shifts can be full or half days)
- No call and no weekend shifts required
- May be required to float within competency level to meet organizational needs
- May need to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
- Employer reserves the right to cancel shifts with 48 hours' notice due to low census during the 13-week contract
Responsibilities
- Perform all sonographic examinations as ordered by physicians, including clinic and inpatient scans
- Acquire and analyze ultrasound data, producing high-quality diagnostic information
- Generate reports using PACS system and collaborate with physicians for patient diagnosis and management
- Prepare examination rooms, clean up, and sterilize equipment as needed
- Ensure patient safety and well-being during sonographic procedures
- Address patient care issues and coordinate with healthcare team members
- Recognize and respond to emergencies, involving physicians as appropriate
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with privacy policies
- Serve as a communication liaison between physicians and patients
- Responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory and equipment performance
- Adhere to all applicable healthcare policies, procedures, and laws
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Experience in both clinic and inpatient settings
- Experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography
- ARDMS certification
- BLS certification
