    Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

    Job Description

    • Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures including PET scans (prior PET scan experience preferred but training available on site).
    • Orientation shifts likely during the first two weeks from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
    • Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM).
    • No weekends or holidays required.
    • Optional on-call shifts available (not required) with specific weekday and weekend hours and a 60-minute response time.

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California.
    • Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
    • Minimum 2 years of total travel experience.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
    • NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) certification or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.

    Schedule and Work Conditions

    • 5x8 schedule, Monday to Friday.
    • No weekend or holiday work required.
    • Call shifts optional and not mandatory.
    • Facility may call off once per two-week pay period.
    • Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.
    • Local radius for travel is 50 miles.

    Facility Type

    • Acute Care Hospital with Magnet recognition.
    • Total staffed beds: 426.
    • Charting system: Epic.
    • Free parking available.

    Required Documentation and Compliance

    • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
    • Social Security Card (as applicable).
    • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
    • Education verification required.
    • Various state-specific background and registry checks as applicable.
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
    • Immunizations and health requirements including:
      • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination.
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
      • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
      • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
    • Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months.
    • Respirator medical clearance required annually for travel candidates.
    • Fit mask testing required for travel candidates.
    • Annual completion of required regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS.
    • Photo for badge required prior to start.

    References and Employment History

    • Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
    • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with explanations for any gaps or overlaps.

    Additional Notes

    • No pending or provisional licenses accepted.
    • Must include return-to-office (RTO) restrictions at time of submission.
    • Candidates must comply with float policy acknowledgment; may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
    • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency required as applicable.
    • Radiation badges issued by the facility (not the recruiter).
