Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Butte, Montana
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: Approximately 12 weeks (81 days)
Job Summary
Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures to obtain imaging results according to physician specifications. Responsibilities include patient transfer for examinations, assisting with Nuclear Medicine exams, and operating Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Nuclear Medicine imaging and related equipment safely and effectively.
- Educate, position, and immobilize patients for Nuclear Medicine procedures.
- Coordinate examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.
- Follow provider imaging orders accurately.
- Submit images and clinical information to Radiologists for interpretation.
- Evaluate image quality appropriately.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership.
- Utilize, charge, and maintain department supplies properly.
- Practice sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention policies.
- Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prepare and administer radioisotopes according to Radiologist protocols.
- Follow Radiation Safety Measures (ALARA) to protect patients and staff.
- Maintain records of radioisotope receipts, use, storage, and disposal per state and federal guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Effective and diplomatic communication skills within a multi-functional team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn relevant applications.
- Must have or be willing to use a personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) to track radiation exposure.

- Radiation badge (dosimeter) is required for this assignment. Providers are encouraged to use an existing badge if available to maintain continuous exposure records.
- Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement.
