    Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

    Location: Walla Walla, Washington
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks
    Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
    Hours per Week: 40


    Facility Overview

    • Short Term Acute Care facility
    • Level III Trauma Center
    • 104 staffed beds
    • Charting system: Epic
    • Free parking available
    • Scrub color: Any color allowed on all units
    • Floating between units required

    Job Details

    • Patient ratio: 1:10
    • Weekend rotation required on a 6-week basis
    • No on-call or block schedules required
    • Acute care experience is a hard requirement
    • Inpatient Rehabilitation (IPR) experience is highly preferred
    • Washington state license must be in hand

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Occupational Therapist license in Washington
    • Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience within the last year

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually
    • Education verification required
    • Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months of start
    • WA State Patrol Search (WATCH) within 90 days of start, updated every 2 years for applicable settings
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
    • Immunizations and health documents required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
      • COVID vaccination documentation preferred (declinations accepted)
    • Fit mask testing required annually (except Medical Lab Technicians)

    Additional Requirements

    • Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable acute care setting within the last 3 years
    • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years
    • Skills checklist updated annually as applicable
    • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
    • Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
    • Floating policy acknowledgment required (may float to other nearby facilities)

    Notes

    • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
    • No on-call or 48-hour shifts approved
    • Candidates must be prepared to rotate weekends on a 6-week schedule
    • Epic charting experience is beneficial due to facility system
