Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position

Location: Plantation, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

• Department: Speech Therapy
• Number of Beds: 250
• Speech Therapy Staff: 5 SLPs (Day shift only)
• Patient Caseload: Approximately 10-12 patients per full caseload
• Equipment: MBS/fluoroscopy required
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Call Requirements: None

Typical Procedures

• Swallow evaluations (post-extubation, stroke protocol, pneumonia, failure to thrive, altered mental status)
• Speech and language evaluations and treatments
• Dysphagia treatments
• Must be fully proficient and experienced in performing MBS

Required Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year
• ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP)
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge or training concerning the risks of hazardous drugs as defined by USP 800, or completion of an assessment for Speech Language Pathologists related to this
• Experience in an acute care setting

Additional Preferences

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required but experience and independence are emphasized
• Adaptability to a fast-paced acute care environment
• Strong patient advocacy and clinical skills
