Description

Pediatric OR Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (9:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • No holiday shifts required
  • Pediatric OR specialty
  • Must hold a valid DC nursing license
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience OR 2 years of RN experience

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in District of Columbia
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Pediatrics Operating Room (OR), with at least some experience within the last year
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience working with pediatric patients

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 30 days of start, including latex allergy information
  • Fit test for N95 or PAPR mask within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years (TD and DTap not accepted)
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 60 days of start; chest x-ray required if past positive or new converter
  • TB questionnaire required for all candidates
  • Immunizations or positive quantitative titers required for:
    • Measles (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer with lab values)
    • Mumps (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer with lab values)
    • Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer with lab values)
    • Hepatitis B series and quantitative surface antibody titer (facility-specific declination form accepted if declining)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive quantitative titer with lab values; LabCorp titers accepted without lab values)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination required for tracking
  • Drug screen (10 panel including marijuana) within 30 days of start

Documentation and Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Background check within 30 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, education verification, and international searches if applicable
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Education verification required (transcript/diploma accepted if verification pending)
  • Primary source verification of state license required
  • Two professional references dated within the past two years (preferably supervisors/managers) required and cannot be pending at start
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Facility-specific mandatory training modules must be completed prior to start, including COVID-19 vaccine training and other cornerstone modules
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required for nursing
  • Photo for badge must be submitted immediately after signing, meeting strict guidelines (recent, full face, plain background, no alterations)

  • Absolutely no background or license issues allowed
  • Photo submission is mandatory upon contract signing and must meet facility standards
  • No holiday shifts required
  • Prior travel experience is not specified as required for this position
