Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Location

  • Omaha, Nebraska

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Department & Specialty

  • Emergency Room (ER) Nursing
  • 27 beds
  • Patient population: All ages

Shift & Scheduling

  • Night shifts primarily (7p-7a or 3p-3a)
  • Shift options include: 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p, 1p-1a, 3p-3a, 7p-7a
  • Weekend requirement: Every third weekend (Friday/Saturday nights and Saturday/Sunday days)
  • Holiday requirement: Rotating
  • Self-scheduling available, but shifts are not guaranteed until schedule is finalized
  • No floating required

Patient Care Support

  • Nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics available on each shift
  • Phlebotomy services available (RNs do not draw labs)

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Current RN license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Valid driver’s license required at time of application (used to verify candidate is within 50-mile radius)

Experience & Testing

  • Pass/fail exam during orientation (open book, 90% required to pass)
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required

Additional Requirements & Policies

  • Radius rule: Candidate must live within 50 miles and may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI or Dignity)
  • Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply results in contract termination
  • Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days or less from contract start; no additional RTO approvals after submission

Work Hours

  • 12-hour shifts
  • Approximately 48 hours per week
