Unit Information
- Unit: Delivery Room
- Beds: 26
- Staff:
- Day Shift: 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Team Lead), 14 nurses, 2-3 student trainees, 2 unit clerks
- Night Shift: 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Team Lead), 12 nurses, 2 student trainees, 1 unit clerk
- Patient Ratios:
- 1:1 for high-risk labor and C-sections
- 1:2 for antepartum, PPROM, PTL on magnesium, postpartum on magnesium
- 1:3 for postpartum magnesium without baby, outpatients
- Equipment:
- Alaris pumps, PCA pumps
- Monica Novii telemetry
- CPN (GE) monitor
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech / CPN
Typical Procedures
- C-sections
- Inductions
- Artificial Rupture of Membranes (AROM)
- Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC)
- Doppler and Decreased Fetal Movement (DFM) monitoring
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- AWHONN certification
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience circulating in C-sections
- High-risk Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDR) experience
Work Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- Self-scheduling available

- New OB Hospitalist program providing attending support to residency and triage nursing staff
