Physical Therapist (Travel) - Plano, Texas
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Work Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: Day shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Must work 2 weekend shifts per month on a rotating basis
- Patient Care Setting: Acute Care Hospital (Level 1 Trauma, Neuroscience, ICUs, ECMO, Burn, Oncology, Orthopedics & Spine) and Inpatient Rehabilitation (40 beds)
- Unit Size: 600 beds total; Rehabilitation Therapy Services include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy
- Staffing: 27 full-time Physical Therapists on staff
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
- On-Call/Floating: No on-call or floating requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in Rehabilitation settings
- Experience in Long Term Acute Care settings
- De-escalation skills in healthcare settings
- Experience working collaboratively with Occupational Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists
Typical Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one physical therapy treatments to patients across all floors and buildings
- Utilize therapy equipment such as walking aids, bikes, bars, and treadmills
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced acute care and rehab environment
