Registered Nurse ICU - Pediatrics

Shift & Hours
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Weekends and holidays required
- Float Pool position with floating to multiple pediatric units including:
- 34-bed Pediatric ICU (PICU)
- 25-bed Cardiac ICU (CICU)
- 112-bed Neonatal ICU (NICU) (limited to low acuity "feeder growers" only, not traditional NICU)
- Acute care units: surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hematology/oncology, step-down unit, cardiac pediatrics
Job Description
- Provide nursing care to pediatric patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; note changes in physician orders
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe and intervene as necessary
- Administer medications, initiate and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
- Delegate tasks to support staff
Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience
- Experience with tracheostomy care and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Familiarity with infusion therapy
- Ability to float across various pediatric units as described
