Registered Nurse (NICU) - Travel Contract
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Call Requirements: No on-call required
Unit Overview
- Unit Type: Level 3-4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Number of Beds: 97
- Staffing: Approximately 200 staff members
- Typical Night Shift Staff: Primarily RNs and 1 clerk
- Patient Ratios: 3-4 patients per RN
- Equipment Used: Medfusion pumps, Alaris pumps, Giraffe isolettes, GE monitors
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: CPN, Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Work Environment & Culture
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs only; no nail polish or artificial nails allowed
- Personality Fit: Friendly, outgoing, compassionate
- Typical Procedures: NICU-specific care consistent with Level 3-4 neonatal patients
- Additional Notes:
