Description
Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week (12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Labor & Delivery with Mother/Baby experience
Travel Experience: Preferred but not required
Locals: Accepted at the same rate
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery with a focus on Mother/Baby patients.
- Night shift schedule with option to flex to a 4th shift if needed. Overtime available after 48 hours.
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or equivalent
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or equivalent
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Advanced NRP through AAP required (Essentials not accepted)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- NRP certification
Additional Requirements
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Completed employment application/resume
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit
- Bring hard copies of all health documents on first day
Notes
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Candidates must submit a cover sheet and current NURSYS report.
- Facility requires compliance with all background and credentialing checks before start.
- Orientation and competency exams may be required as applicable.
