Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Location: Oregon City, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)

Job Details
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
- No floating between units.
- On-call required during low census; typically one on-call shift per pay period.
- Weekend work required every other weekend.
- Staffing ratios follow AWHONN standards.
- Scrub color: Any color allowed; specific units (OR, Critical Care, ED, Maternal Child) provide scrubs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon.
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Experience & References
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required.
- Prior travel experience is not required.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours).
- Weekend shifts required every other weekend.
- On-call shifts may be assigned during low census periods.
- No floating between units.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
- Immunizations and screenings required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required).
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
- 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use (travel only).
- Fit mask testing required for travel nurses, updated annually.
Background & Credentialing
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript.
- NURSYS license verification required.
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment required.
- Work history verification required if exceptions to references are requested.
- Additional state-specific background checks and attestations may apply.
Training & Competency
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
- Epic charting system training required; transcripts must be submitted prior to or shortly after start.
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
- Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment exam or valid EFM certification required for L&D RNs.
Additional Requirements
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required prior to start.
- Float policy acknowledgment required; traveler may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
- On-call and weekend work are mandatory as described.
