Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in an Interventional Radiology (IR) suite performing body IR cases.
  • Responsibilities include scrubbing IR cases with the IR physician, pulling for all cases, and completing related paperwork.
  • No holidays, overtime, or on-call required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Ohio.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year.
  • ARRT certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Compliance and Onboarding Requirements

  • Background check including FCRA-compliant 7-year search, SSN trace, sex offender registry, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, and education verification required prior to start.
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing and updated annually. Fingerprint results must be on file before contract extension.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
  • Fit mask test (3M 1860 small/regular or 1870+) required within 12 months and updated annually (not required for Histology Techs, Pathology Assistants, or Medical Technologists).
  • Immunization requirements:
    • Tdap vaccine every 10 years (medical exemptions require doctor’s note).
    • Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold/T-Spot) within 6 months of start; chest x-ray if prior positive TB test.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster required if titers negative or equivocal.
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster required if titers negative or equivocal.
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination documented.
  • Annual 10-panel drug screen required (instant drug screens not accepted).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 – Mar 31). Declinations not accepted.

Documentation and Training

  • Completion of facility-specific online onboarding and training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone).
  • Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
  • Photo ID badge must be obtained from the facility prior to start; photo of badge front and back required for clearance (except X-Ray and MRI techs who pick up badge on first day).
  • Employment application must include 3 years of prior work history with at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting in a similar area.
  • Two professional references from a manager, supervisor, or director within the past year required.

Additional Notes

  • No prior travel experience explicitly required.
  • No overtime, holiday, or call responsibilities.
  • Must carry government-issued photo ID at all times during assignment.
  • Fingerprinting and background checks are critical and must be completed timely to avoid delays.
  • Modules and onboarding are high priority and must be completed before clearance to start.
