Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Location: Oregon City, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Job Details
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
- No floating between units required.
- On-call shifts may be required during low census (approximately one on-call shift per pay period).
- Weekend work required every other weekend.
- Staffing ratios follow AWHONN standards.
- Scrub color: Any color allowed; specific colors provided for OR, Critical Care, ED, and Maternal Child units.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Background Requirements
Background Checks
- Must have a background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
- Background check components include SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Counties, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable).
- Oregon Abuse/Neglect search required only if assigned to specific child care facilities (not applicable here).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
Employment History & References
- Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required.
- Work history verification required if exceptions to references are requested.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
- Fit mask test required (annual), with onsite testing available if no valid record within 1 year.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or acceptable declinations:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years.
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series or signed declination.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer.
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination.
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
Competency & Training Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- EFM training required for all L&D RNs, met by EFM certification or Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment exam.
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS (Workramp).
- Epic training modules required and must be completed within a week of orientation.
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card as applicable for I9 verification.
- E-Verify attestation required.
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required prior to start.
- Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract for a Labor and Delivery RN working night shifts in a short-term acute care hospital in Oregon City, OR. The position requires standard RN licensure and certifications relevant to L&D nursing, compliance with comprehensive background and health screenings, and completion of required training and competency assessments. First-time travel nurses are welcome, with no prior travel experience required. Weekend and occasional on-call shifts are part of the schedule.
