Description
Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Eureka, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Setting: Outpatient clinic
Job Description
- Perform echocardiography procedures in a supportive outpatient cardiology diagnostic setting.
- Average caseload: approximately 8 patients per day.
- Equipment details pending.
Required Qualifications
- Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Cardiac Sonographer experience within the last year.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Required Documents & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification).
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination accepted.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to infection control policies.
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates.
- Fit mask testing required annually for travel candidates.
- References: Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment.
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned learning management systems.
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
- Compliance with float policy: may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
- State-specific background and registry checks as applicable (e.g., Washington, Oregon, Alaska).
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs (if applicable).
