Shift Details
- Night shift
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Total 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID; temporary paper receipt allowed temporarily)
- Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
- Employment verification for 2 workplaces within last 7 years (W2 or direct supervisor references accepted)
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (pending results allowed before start)
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant screen allowed as placeholder)
- Immunizations/vaccinations:
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer (measles, mumps, rubella)
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (or proof of chickenpox history)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Signed consent forms including release of information, floating policy, and time & attendance policy for contracted staff
- E-Verify/I9 attestation required
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS and BLS must be current AHA provider certifications (instructor cards and RQI accepted)
- Unit-specific competency exams as applicable
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (Relias or Prophecy only), renewed annually, with up to 3 attempts allowed
- Stroke and Trauma CEUs as required by unit (must be stroke- or trauma-related; initial and annual renewal requirements apply)
- Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing for clinical staff
Additional Notes
- Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite; if failed, PAPR training provided
- Radiation badge not required for this role
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years of start preferred but not mandatory if work history verification is provided
- Candidate must review facility hand hygiene policy prior to start
