Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM, weekdays only (no weekends, holidays, or on-call)

Job Summary

Provide perioperative care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) with a focus on postoperative and post-procedure patient care.
Evaluate patient responses to treatment and manage pain according to American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) standards.
Anticipate surgical/procedural needs based on knowledge of procedures and pathophysiology.
Work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment.
Must be able to "hit the ground running" with minimal onboarding.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas.
Minimum 3 years of recent full-time experience in Post Anesthesia Care (PACU), including experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
