Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech
Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Day shifts, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day
- Shift options: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
- Occasional Saturday and evening shifts may be required
- Hours per week: 40
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Mammography Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M)
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or equivalent education/work experience
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks as applicable
- Education verification required unless highest education is high school
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps
- Work history verification required for up to 7 years, with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- References: 2 professional references required for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work and any work restrictions documented
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination
- Color blindness exam (in-person) if applicable
- Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
Competency & Testing
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some telemetry units
- ICU RNs may be required to take an onsite EKG exam after start
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually (exclusions apply)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
- Job description
- Standards of Business Conduct
- Vendor training and Code of Conduct (for current and future years as applicable)
- Overpayment refund policy
- TB screening questionnaire signed by candidate and healthcare provider
- Conditional offer of employment attestation
- Religious exemption forms required for facial hair (PAPR) and certain vaccine exemptions, subject to approval
- Photo for badge required for per diem positions only
- Personal or auto insurance required only for driving/home health positions
