Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery (Travel)

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Work as a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Circulator RN.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM (4-day, 10-hour shifts).
Thursdays are designated as call days with rotating coverage; occasional Thursdays off.
Rotating weekend call responsibilities.
Patient ratio during surgical cases: 1 RN per 2 patients, supported by 2 techs.
Work involves open heart surgery cases and related equipment.
Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.

Unit Information

Cardiovascular OR with a focus on heart surgery.
Need for 2 Cardiovascular surgery circulating RNs per shift.
Typical procedures include:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
- Femoral Popliteal bypass
- Carotid endarterectomy
- Valve procedures
- Thoracotomy

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience within the last year.
Operating Room (OR) experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Preferred Qualifications

Additional cardiovascular surgery experience beyond the minimum.

Work Environment & Culture

Emphasis on patient care and safety; ideal candidates are empathetic and caring.
Dress code: Scrubs provided by the facility.
Adherence to hospital policies and unit guidelines is expected.

Additional Notes

This is a travel nursing position.
Total weekly hours approximately 36.
Call responsibilities include weekdays and weekends on a rotating basis.
