Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment
Location: Houston, Texas
Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), 2nd Floor
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Employment Type: Travel
Unit Overview
- 12 beds in CVICU
- Patient ratio typically 1:2, with 1:1 based on patient acuity
- Day shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 6-8 nurses, 1 secretary
- Night shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 6-8 nurses
- Equipment used: Impella, IABP, PrisMax, ECMO, Alaris IV pump, Edwards Hemospheres, ventilators
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
Typical Procedures
- Recovery care for open-heart surgery patients
- Intubation and extubation
- Bedside bronchoscopy
- Bedside line insertion
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Knowledge and skills in caring for patients with titrating vasoactive medications
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience
- Ability to care for patients with advanced devices (e.g., Impella, ECMO)
Work Schedule & Environment
- Every other weekend scheduled to work
- No on-call responsibilities
- Dress code: Royal blue scrubs
- Floating areas include MICU and CVIMU units

- Must be a team player and adaptable to a dynamic ICU environment
