Occupational Therapist (OT)

Location: Macomb, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Provide occupational therapy services across a broad range of patient types and settings including inpatient, swing-bed, assisted living, and outpatient.
• Patient diagnoses include general medical conditions, CVA, hip fractures, post-op total hip/knee replacements, adhesive capsulitis, tendon injuries, upper extremity fractures, carpal/cubital tunnel syndrome, developmental delays, autism, sensory issues, and syndromes.
• Expected to function as a generalist with evaluation and treatment skills to cover a diverse patient population.
• Patient volume varies based on census and scheduled hours.

Work Schedule

• Day shifts only.
• 40 hours per week.
• Shift options include 4 shifts of 10 hours or 5 shifts of 8 hours, or a mixture of both.
• Patients are scheduled by a secretary based on clinical need determined by the therapist.
• No weekend or holiday requirements currently.

Work Settings

• Approximately 40% inpatient, 40% outpatient, 10% swing-bed, and 10% assisted living (variable).
• Pediatrics seen primarily in outpatient setting.
• Required to cover all areas within the department.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
• Minimum of 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Orientation & Dress Code

• Department-specific orientation provided.
• Dress code: Black scrubs or black collared shirt with khaki pants.

Team Structure

• Supervised by OT Manager.
• Support from 2 Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).
