Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM (4 days per week, 10 hours per day)
Schedule Rotation:
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
- On-call responsibilities required
Job Description
- Surgical Services role focused on the operating room (OR) environment.
- Must be able to fulfill on-call duties as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- At least 2 years of total travel experience.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) experience.
- Must hold current NBSTSA certification.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Two forms of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, social security card, passport).
- Background check within 60 days of start, including statewide, county, federal searches, and education verification.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter.
- Separate sex offender search required.
- Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search required (TN only).
- Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu).
- Two recent professional references required.
- Skills checklist and internal evaluation required annually or after one year with agency.
Certifications
- NBSTSA certification (mandatory for OR Tech).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC only).
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, and other certifications are not required for this role.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands.
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year; if positive, clear chest X-ray within 2 years plus annual TB questionnaire.
- Proof of immunizations or positive antibody titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30). Exemptions require mask-wearing in patient areas and may delay start date.
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending results accepted).
- Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year, with a clear pass result (required prior to start).
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge must be recent (within 6 months), front-facing, no hats/head coverings (unless for religious reasons), no glasses or glare, neutral expression, plain background, no photo filters, and all facial piercings removed.
- Dress code for surgical techs: steel gray scrubs, no prints or embroidery allowed.
- Confidentiality acknowledgment must be signed prior to start.
- Onsite fit test and questionnaire completion required before start date.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must comply with all documentation and credentialing requirements prior to start; no exceptions for pending compliance.
- Prior travel experience is required if candidate has less than 3 years OR CST experience (minimum 2 years with travel experience).
- This position requires living at least 100 miles from the facility location.
