Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Jeffersonville, Indiana
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), every other weekend
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care while supervising licensed and non-licensed staff. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, quality outcomes, patient education, and mentoring/precepting staff. You will participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory standards within a Practice Governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent clinical decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and function as a mentor/preceptor to staff.
• Promote teamwork and communicate opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts and implement practice changes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
