MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Riverview, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Evening (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
- Fri: 7:00 PM – 2:00 AM
- Sat (Substitute): 2:00 PM – 2:00 AM
- Mon: 7:00 PM – 2:00 AM
- Total Weekly Hours: 36
- Daily Caseload: 15-20 MRI exams per tech
- Work Setting: Outpatient, Inpatient, ER, Community Hospital, Children's Hospital, Adult ICU
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
- Total Staffed Beds: 223
- Charting System: Cerner EMR
- Scrub Color: Navy blue

Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience within the last year
- Experience working in both Inpatient and Outpatient settings
- Proficient with Cerner EMR system
- Current BLS certification
- Advanced MR certification (ARRT or ARMRIT)
- Skills in IV starts, contrast administration, and biopsy procedures
- Experience with pacemaker imaging and related safety protocols
Licensure & Certifications
- Active, valid MRI Tech license as required by Florida
- Driver’s License required and must remain current throughout assignment
- Background checks including:
- Standard 7-year history, SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Foreign equivalency evaluation required if education was completed outside the US or Puerto Rico
- Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 10 weeks of start (annual TB questionnaire required thereafter)
- Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (with boosters if titers low)
- Standard 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination required
- Respirator medical clearance if respirator use is required
Competencies & Additional Requirements
- Stroke education CEUs (8 total) including NIH Stroke Certification and mRS (Modified Rankin Scale) certification
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification if applicable (behavioral health or psych ER highly desired)
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Color blind testing (Relias online exam) prior to start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (not applicable here but may be requested)
- References: 2 professional references from the past 2 years required
- Employment application and skills checklist must be submitted and approved
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Professional photo for badge required prior to start (no filters or cropped photos)
- Compliance with dress code and tobacco policy
- Completion of mandatory online account registration and training modules on BayCare Online Learning Center within 48 hours of contract signing and prior to start
- Modules take approximately 4-8 hours to complete; must be finished by the Thursday before start date
- Modules best accessed via Microsoft Edge or Safari browsers (not compatible with mobile devices)
- Failure to complete modules on time may result in delayed start or unpaid training time

- This position requires working evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
- No floating to other units or sister facilities allowed.
- Candidates must have all required licenses, certifications, and clearances completed and verified before start.
- COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory unless exempted for medical or religious reasons.
