Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) (Days)
Location: Petoskey, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a 202-bed regional hospital providing full-service surgical care including general elective surgeries and critical/life-saving procedures.
- Surgical services cover a broad range of specialties with a focus on enhancing patient care and outcomes.
- Shift: 10-hour day shifts, 6:45am–5:15pm, non-consecutive working days with random weekdays off (Monday–Friday).
- Additional on-call requirements if contract extends past initial end date:
- One weeknight call per week, 7pm–11pm
- One weekend on-call per month, rotating between Friday, Saturday, Sunday (7pm–7am) and Saturday/Sunday (7am–7pm)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of RN experience.
- Michigan RN license verification required (LARA and Nursys). If any license issues exist, a written explanation is recommended for manager review.
- Skills checklist for RN specialties completed within the last year is required.
- Full-time employees of the hospital system are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Orthopedics, General Surgery, Endo-Vascular, Urgent Care, or Obstetrics is preferred.
Additional Information
- Strict 3-strike attendance policy: termination after 3 absences or being more than 20 minutes late for scheduled shifts, with exceptions for documented communicable disease or hospitalization. Policy effective starting 6/1/2024.
- Hospital provides scrubs as part of the dress code.
- The hospital serves a large regional area with emphasis on cardiology, cancer, orthopedics, and neurosciences.
Shift Details
- Dayshift, 10 hours per day.
- Initial assignment through Friday, 11/14/2025, with potential extension and shift adjustments as noted above.
