Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Nuclear Medicine)
- Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts of 10 hours each (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, weekend call required
- On-Call Requirement: Yes, rotating call for one week at a time covering all after-hours including weekends
- Guaranteed Hours Options:
- 8 or 10-hour shifts totaling 40 hours/week
- 3 shifts of 12 hours (36 hours/week)
- 4 shifts of 12 hours (48 hours/week)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Indiana (pending license accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- CNMT or NMTCB certification (must be in hand to submit)
Special Requirements
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
- Must complete rotating on-call duties including weekends
- Must pass unit competency exams and color blindness testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent, 100% minimum score)
- Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam (not required for techs or RRTs)
- Must complete facility-specific orientation and compliance forms prior to start
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start date
- Fit mask test within 12 months (N95 or approved respirators)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start date
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start date
Background and Documentation
- Background check required within 90 days of start, including 7-year history and international search if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification and official transcripts/diplomas required (may be pending at start)
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years
- Current employment application with explanation of any gaps over 30 days in the last 7 years
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and updated annually
