Description
RN - NICU
Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
Weekend Requirement: 7 weekends in 8 weeks (Friday & Saturday nights)
On-Call: 2 call shifts in 8 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions per state Board of Nursing standards.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- Collect and assess health data to evaluate patient status.
- Provide health teaching and counseling.
- Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching.
- Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
- Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
- Document care according to hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Utilize resources effectively.
- May float to other departments within scope of competency.
- May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Additional certifications relevant to the unit or service.
