Description
RN - NICU
Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (36 hours/week)
Weekend Requirement: 7 weekends in 8 weeks (Friday & Saturday)
On-Call: 2 call shifts in 8 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions per state Board of Nursing standards.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- Collect and assess health data to evaluate patient status.
- Provide health teaching, counseling, therapy, and treatment supportive of patient well-being.
- Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation as needed.
- Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
- Document care according to hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- May float to other departments within competency and qualifications.
- May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited school is required.
Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience within the last year.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
- Additional certifications appropriate for the NICU unit preferred.
