Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location
- Saint Paul, Minnesota
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (OR RN) with strong Orthopedic skills; General OR experience is secondary
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- Start times: 11:00 AM and 2:45 PM
- Hours per week: 40 hours
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekend Requirement: As needed
- On-call: Yes, as needed
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block scheduling: Accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted within 50-mile radius
- Pending License: Accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 5 days

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Minnesota (pending license accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
- Strong Orthopedics experience
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross (RQI acceptable; certificate of completion not accepted)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Background checks including criminal background, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG within 1 year of start
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Adult Tdap (no declinations accepted without approved exemption)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (TB results must be on file no later than 3 days after start)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer required (no exemptions accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Positive IGG titer, proof of series, or signed declination required
- Varicella: Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines required (no exemptions accepted)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination documentation required for 2025-2026 season (declinations accepted)
- OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance required prior to start
- MN DHS Net Study Fingerprint clearance required before start (fingerprints must be completed within 2 weeks of registration)
- Criminal background check (Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension) required for candidates who have lived in Minnesota
- Skills checklist and medication/pharmacology competency exams required annually
- Completion of facility-specific preorientation online modules within 72 hours of receiving login (3-9 hours depending on specialty)
- Passport-style photo for badge required within 48 hours of signing contract
Additional Information
- First-timers (no prior travel contracts) are not accepted
- Candidate may be required to cancel shifts with no penalty to client
- Parking: Scrubs provided; parking validation for first day only; subsequent parking fees apply depending on shift and location
- Candidates must complete MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract to initiate fingerprinting process
- Facility is latex-free; notify if latex allergy exists
- Candidates must comply with all immunization and health screening requirements; no exemptions accepted for patient-facing roles except for specific approved cases (e.g., Tdap exemption requires approval)
- Drug testing is not required for client clearance but must be within 1 year if completed
- References are not required for client clearance and will not delay start date
This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with strong orthopedic skills seeking a travel contract in a Level 3 trauma teaching hospital setting in Minnesota.
