MRI Technologist I
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Clinical Technician
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7am–7pm
Hours per Week: 36 (12 hours per day)
Job Summary
This entry-level position works under immediate to general supervision to develop competencies in delivering specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services for adult and pediatric patients. The role supports medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and monitoring of various conditions using specialized imaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, urgent care, and outreach clinics.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
- Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, or surgical procedures.
- Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation completeness and technical quality.
- Transfer images and data to archival systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
- Perform quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfection of equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain competencies.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program with emphasis in a cardiovascular specialty
OR - Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program with emphasis in radiologic technology
Certifications
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- MRI Certification eligibility must be met and certification obtained within 12 months of hire
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist, including experience within the last year
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher (preferred but not required)
Additional Information
- Must consistently report to work as scheduled
- Demonstrate initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently
