Description
RN NICU - Oklahoma City, OK
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data; intervene as necessary.
- Administer medications and regulate intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs and delegate tasks to support staff.
Shift & Hours
- Night shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Skills
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Some computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced NRP certification
