Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Travel Position

Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM (floating required)


Job Description

  • Provide total care for ICU patients in a 12-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:2-3.
  • Manage ventilators, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene.
  • Floating required to Emergency Room (ER) and Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) departments:
    • ER float duties include assisting with call lights, medication passes, patient transport, IV starts, and blood draws (no patient assignments).
    • Med Surg float duties may include taking a full patient assignment (up to 6 patients) or acting as an aide (up to 12 patients).
  • No on-call required.
  • Holidays required.
  • Electronic Medical Record system used: MedHost.
  • Scrub color: Any.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience, including ICU experience within the last year
  • Emergency Department (ED) experience
  • Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification

Additional Information

  • Floating schedule is managed via a float log with possible overrides by supervisors based on department needs and nurse experience.
  • Blocked scheduling may be accommodated but must be included in the submission.
  • 48-hour guaranteed hours are not approved.
